Carolyn is known for her values-driven and collaborative approach to identifying opportunities and process improvements and delivering strategic financial solutions primarily in non-profit environments.
She is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA), a Certified Facilities Management professional and has completed certifications in Risk Management and Workplace Mental Health Leadership as well as holding a degree in English and Communications.
She led Administration and Finance Teams at Legal Aid and WorkSafeBC for more than 20 years and is currently a Finance Director at the University of British Columbia leading the team that provides financial services for a large internal portfolio. Carolyn is a life-long volunteer who has been involved with varied organizations at all levels. She mentored young women at UBC as a Finance Advisor for Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority and served as the Vancouver Alumnae Chapter’s President.
She also volunteered with CPABC and most recently, completed two terms on the Board of a large independent school in Richmond including half of that time as Board Chair. Currently, she serves as a Board Director at Fraserside Community Services Society, a multi-service agency that supports people living with low income, developmental disabilities, mental health or substance use issues.
