Board Voice – in collaboration with the Vancouver Foundation and the United Way of BC – participated in the creation of the brief below recommending changes to BC’s Lobbyist Transparency Act.
In particular, Board Voice is asking for a much clearer definition of the language around “government funding” and “coalitions,” as the Act uses those terms in entirely different ways than our sector is used to. Those differences can be very confusing when a community social services non-profit is registering their lobbying activities as required under the Act.
