Board Voice would like to welcome everyone to attend our 8th Annual Conference and AGM – November 17th and 18th. We have some excellent speakers, panels and guests lined up to inform and engage with you:

Friday morning keynote – Engage with Kelly Lendsay, one of Canada’s foremost innovators of Indigenous social and economic inclusion, corporate engagements and partnerships. A proud Indigenous leader of Canadian Cree, Metis and European ancestry who is recognized as one of Canada’s foremost innovators of Indigenous social and economic inclusion, corporate engagements and partnerships, has earned him the reputation of being an engaging thought leader, facilitator and bridge-builder between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Peoples, companies and communities. Kelly has brought his powerful message to audiences around the world.

Friday afternoon – Bruce MacDonaldPresident and CEO Imagine Canada Imagine Canada is the national voice of the charitable and nonprofit sector. Bruce will address the initiatives and challenges facing the sector, including the value of having charities and nonprofits play a broad role in shaping public policy through their advocacy efforts. Bruce has an extensive history in the sector, most recently as the former CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters Canada.

Saturday morning – This final session will focus on how Board Voice members can be involved in a collaborative response to the opioid crisis as it exists in their communities. Donald MacPherson (Executive Director, Canadian Drug Policy Coalition), one of Canada’s leading figures in drug policy development, Donald advocates for drug policies that are based on principles of public health, scientific evidence, human rights and social inclusion. Vikki Reynolds (Consultant, Educator) specializes in team development, resisting burnout and organizational change. Her work addresses addiction, substance misuse, diversity, homelessness, trauma and violence.

We will also be releasing our report for the There is a Better Way: A BC Framework for Wellbeing project. There will be a panel looking at the future for Board Voice plus an assortment of BC politicians and other guests.
