Community non-profits throughout BC have their annual chance to provide input to the provincial government on Budget 2019. Don’t miss this opportunity! The Select Standing Committee on Finance and Governance began the first of 14 community consultations this week, and you’ll need to book soon if you hope to get a spot.
If the committee isn’t coming to your town or you want to make a written, audio or video submission instead, the public consultation portal is now open, with a deadline of Oct. 15 for all submissions. Board Voice will be presenting in Esquimalt on Oct. 9 and will provide a written submission as well.
Let’s make sure government knows just how important BC’s community non-profit sector is in addressing the social determinants of health. Those determinants aren’t mentioned by name in the government’s own guide to Budget 2019 consultations, but they are present in many parts of the document.
