Add your voice to BC Poverty Reduction Coalition efforts to create a better life for the more than half a million British Columbians living in poverty.
As the coalition notes in its action plan, reducing poverty is as easy as ABC: We need a strategy that is Accountable, Bold and Comprehensive. The provincial government released its report What We Heard this week, reporting out on community consultations around poverty reduction held throughout BC, and the coalition is urging all of us to follow up with government and keep the public pressure on until a comprehensive strategy is in place.
The coalition is asking people to meet with and contact their MLAS to make sure every politician in BC recognizes that reducing poverty is a top priority for all of us. Click here for the coalition’s easy online email form that just requires you to fill out your name and address, with the coalition then following up with your MLA.
If you’re an organization and want to add your organization’s name to the long list of those that have signed the open letter of support for a poverty action plan, you’ll find excellent resources and instructions for doing that on the coalition website.
