Early-Bird Rate Extension

We are happy to tell you that we extended Early Bird prices until Monday, November 14, 2016.

I would like to take this opportunity to highlight some of our workshops:

Find out what coordinated and integrated service looks like on the ground from Dr. Steve Mathias who is the Executive Director of the BCIYSI, a pilot project providing care to some of the province’s most vulnerable youth.

Ruby Banga will present the findings of their recent survey of BC Families by the BC Council for Families. Over 3000 families responded.

Vantage Point will lead a workshop on Governance vs. Management – Understanding Roles and Dynamics. Learn how to shift your board conversations to the issues that matter.

Ever wondered how to get your organization noticed? Join Jody Paterson, communications expert, to get some valuable tips on how to tell stories that matter. Workshop participants will get some practical and strategic guidance in writing powerful and people-centred stories.

Our main session – Understanding the Village is not to be missed. This experiential workshop will invite a deeper understanding and an emotional connection to Reconciliation. Join us for a journey through Aboriginal history to today to gain a clearer understanding of some of the most important issues facing our country today.

Leslie Varley, Executive Director of the BC Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres, will explore how your organizations can engage in Reconciliation. Leslie will help you to explore the questions of Reconciliation in a safe environment, allowing for deeper understanding.

We will hear from our province’s three main political parties about their respective policies on Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation.

Finally, we explore what a social policy framework could look like in BC. Jennifer Charlesworth will facilitate the discussion. Our panelists are Doug McArthur from SFU, Rod Santiago, Executive Director of Abbotsford Community Services and Leslie Welin, Char of the Board of Directors of Clements Society. We will also explore some questions for our upcoming province-wide consultation.

There will also be plenty of time to network with other board members from across the province.

We look forward to seeing you at the conference!
