Farewell to Michael Davis

MichaelIt is with heavy hearts that the Board Voice Board of Directors says good-bye to Michael Davis. Michael has accepted a new job with the federal government as Director of Communications for the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada.

Michael first joined Board Voice in late 2012 at the Annual General Meeting and became Chair in early 2013. Michael brought much expertise and energy to the Board Voice Board of Directors. His skills in communications and project management helped to move many key Board Voice projects forward over the years. His passion for the “There’s a Better Way Project – A Made in B.C. Social Policy Framework” has helped The Federation of Community Social Services and Board Voice get this project going.

We are sure that Family Services of Greater Vancouver is also going to miss Michael. He had a unique way of asking questions and pointing out that we must do things differently if we are to get a different result.

We offer our hearty congratulations to Michael and thank him for his dedication and years of service to Board Voice and the community-benefit organization sector. While we may have lost his expertise in BC, we can be assured that even more Canadians will now benefit from his knowledge, skills and passion.

The Board Voice Board of Directors has appointed Doug Hayman as our Acting Chair. We will select a permanent Chair during our April Strategy Session.
